Nestled along the quiet shores of Bonaparte Lake in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, our campground offers a backcountry escape without the backcountry hassle — power sites, clean facilities, and water that starts at your doorstep.
Bonaparte Lake Campground sits at 3,200 feet elevation in the heart of the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, where the trees close in tight and the water stays cold and clear all summer long. We've been welcoming families, solo travelers, and returning visitors for decades — not because we're the newest operation, but because people who come here once keep coming back.
Whether you're pitching a tent under the pines, parking an RV at a full-hookup site, or just sitting on a log with a coffee watching the morning fog lift off the water, this place rewards patience and quiet. There's no generator hour, no crowded beach, no rushing anywhere. Just the lake, the forest, and the space to breathe.
From bare-earth tent pads to full-hookup RV sites, we have a spot that fits how you like to camp.
Flat, shaded tent pads nestled among fir and pine. Each site includes a fire ring, picnic table, and nearby access to vault toilets and potable water.
Spacious pull-through and back-in sites with gravel pads. Full hookup sites offer 30/50-amp electrical with water at the site.
Large gatherings? We offer group camping areas that can accommodate families and organizations. Seasonal sites are available for repeat visitors who want their own patch of forest.
Bonaparte Lake is stocked with rainbow trout and landlocked salmon, surrounded by trails that lead into some of the most rugged, untouched terrain in the Okanogan Highlands. You don't need to plan much — the options are right outside your tent door.
Plan Your VisitRainbow trout and landlocked salmon in a cold, clear alpine lake. Boat access available. No motor boats — paddle or troll from shore.
Trailheads start at the campground. Routes lead to alpine passes, hidden meadows, and remote mountain lakes — all within the Wenatchee Wilderness.
Paddle across glass-calm mornings. Bring your own watercraft or rent nearby — the lake is small enough to cross in an hour, large enough to get lost in.
Zero light pollution. The Milky Way is visible from every site. Keep an eye out for elk, deer, eagles, and the occasional cougar on the trails.
Firewood is available for purchase at the site. Bring a book, a guitar, or nothing at all. The kind of evening where time stops.
Real moments. Real places. No filters needed.
"We've been coming to Bonaparte for five summers in a row. The lake is exactly as quiet as you hope it'll be, and the sites are well-maintained. It's become our family's tradition."
"Perfect spot for a solo fishing trip. Got up at dawn, cast off the rocks, and had the whole lake to myself. The campground has everything you need and nothing you don't."
"Brought our whole extended family for a reunion. The group area was perfect, the kids caught their first trout, and we all agreed: this is the best camping we've ever done."
